This 1939 Ford Coupe high performance Street Rod was built by Trucks and Roadsters by Bill which is a family owned business started by Bill Phelan and now also works with his son Ves Phelan.

Bill has been in the industry building custom components and hot rods for over 30 years and his son has worked at the shop since a young age. The company manufacture high-quality components for a wide variety of cars.


The custom chopped 1939 Ford with suicide doors you see here has been fitted with a 514 cubic inch engine that was supplied by Ford racing and is capable of producing 630 HP. The engine is fed from a one-off fuel injection system that utilizes bespoke velocity stacks. The engine is connected to a automatic transmission fitted with a 3500 RPM stall converter which delivers the power to the Dutchman quick change rear-end.

The suspension is also mainly manufacturer specifically for this car with custom made control arms at the front and a Jake 4 bar rear suspension set-up. The ride height is also controllable through the use of Air Ride Technology setup. The wheels were supplied by Boyd Coddington and are 17×6 at the front and 18×12 at the rear.

The inside of the car is also finished to the same high standard as the exterior with various hand-made components such as the dashboard, consoles and door panels.
