Four of the world’s fastest cars lined up for a quarter-mile shootout. Porsche Turbo S vs Nissan GT-R vs McLaren 570S vs Audi R8 V10. Each contender has around 600 horsepower, but that is the only common factor between them.
Back in 2007, Nissan’s GT-R R35 came out and literally destroyed everything on its wake, especially on a straight line. Fast forward nine years, though, and it’s a different story.
Nissan might have increased the output of the turbocharged V6 by 20hp, bringing the total up to 565hp, but the GT-R’s legendary straight-line performance starts to fade away as the competition becomes faster and faster.
Porsche did it with the ballistic 911 Turbo S, Audi also managed the same with the latest R8 and even McLaren infused its entry-level 570S with such performance that is simply astonishing for a rear-wheel drive car with this amount of power.Whether you are a GT-R fan or not, everyone should just respect the mighty Godzilla for its brilliant engineering but as the video portrays below, Nissan should better bring the new one out fast as the rest of the go-faster group is making it look its age.
