Vicious, The World’s Most Radical, Twin-charged 1000Hp 1965 Mustang

Timeless Kustoms from Camarillo, California,  set out to build ‘Vicious’, one of the wildest and most extreme Mustangs ever.

Jason Pecikonis and his team at Timeless Kustoms spent 10,000 hours transforming a 1965 Ford Mustang coupe into a 1,000 horsepower Ford Mustang fastback. The whole build is 90-percent racecar and 10-percent streetcar.

They used Dynacorn sheet metal to convert the coupe to a fastback, and that big back window shows off the red interior nicely. Under the custom widened Mustang body is an Art Morrison chassis that uses C7 Corvette-based suspension.

The engine is a late-model 5.1-litre Ford ‘Aluminator’ V8, here boosted by a pair of Twin Precision turbos and a Magnuson TVS supercharger that makes 1,000 horsepower on a conservative tune-up. It also features GT350 ported cylinder heads, a Ford Performance 302 crankshaft, custom cams, custom pistons and connecting rods, new valve springs and retainers, new oil lines, better intercoolers and fuel pumps, a dry sump, and a custom exhaust.

The boost and fuel control are handled by a MoTeC ECU, and the rest of the drivetrain is equally radical. It’s consists an EMCO Gears DV46 six-speed sequential gearbox that features precision dog clutch shifting and essentially eliminates the possibility of missed shifts.

The car has all the best parts throughout, including carbon ceramic brakes, a sequential EMCO six-speed trans, and huge wheels—19×13 rear and 19×12 front—that necessitate the custom steel wheel flares. Pecikonis said, “We’re really pushing the envelope as far as what the car’s going to look like in the end, simply because we’re basing those properties on what the car needs.”

“This is a car, for us, that we’ve pushed the physical attributes to the limit,” explains Timeless Kustoms’ founder Jason Pecikonis. “The idea behind ‘Vicious’ is to build the ultimate road race Mustang,” he said. “It is a no-holds barred, twin-turbo, single-supercharged, carbon-ceramic disc braked, independent front and rear-suspended, sequential paddle-shifted, kick-ass street car.”

The gorgeous and impudent red interior has Sparco seats with Timeless Kustoms logos, a Vintage Air a/c setup, DJ Safety fire suppression system, and full Motec controls with Motec’s digital dash cluster.
