2018 Ford Mustang Facelift Brochure Reveals New Features and Options

- in Cars

The 2018 Ford Mustang has debuted back in January already, but Ford was light on the details at the time.

Some of them will be addressed now, though, thanks to a fleet brochure that Ford posted on their website, so we were able to take a look at some new information regarding the 2018 Mustang. Unfortunately, the brochure from Ford Motor Company’s Fleet unit doesn’t bring us the much-desired details about the upgraded 2.3-liter EcoBoost and 5.0-liter Coyote powerplants, the only ones left in the offer.

The first thing that popped out at us for the brochure page was that in the Available Packages section, there was only one option for each engine when it comes to the Performance Package. This contradicts the rumors we’ve heard of there being two performance package options.

Straight away, we can see the addition of two new colors. The Mustang now boasts an impressive 11-color palette: Oxford White, Triple Yellow Tri-coat, Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat, Race Red, Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Royal Crimson Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Lightning Blue, Kona Blue, Ingot Silver, Magnetic and Shadow Black. Interior color choices include Ceramic, Tan, Showstopper Red, Midnight Blue and Ebony.

Another interesting titbit of information about the refreshed Mustang is that front legroom has increased by 0.6-inches but rear legroom has been decreased by 1.6-inches. LED headlights are now standard as is the mechanical limited-slip differential, along with the expected amenities such as A/C, remote entry, the SYNC 3 infotainment system, etc. Adaptive cruise control, the Lane-Keeping system and similar advanced safety features are optional at a small premium.

Ford has also extended its Fordpass smartphone app to be compatible on the Mustang, so owners can unlock, lock, find and start their Mustang with their phone.

The new Mustang will be available in both, coupe and convertible versions, with the former also benefitting from a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. The new Mustang is expected to be officially revealed in the beginning of 2018. Expect pricing for the 2018 Ford Mustang to be announced closer to its launch.

Mustang features a more athletic look, with new front and rear-end design that deliver a leaner and meaner look and refined aerodynamics. Here is a better animation comparing the 2018 Ford Mustang vs the older pre-facelift Mustang design.
