A world record has been set! The Koenigsegg Agera RS driven Niklas Lilja recorded a 2-way average speed of 277.9 mph making it the fastest production car ever!
After crushing the Chiron’s 0-249-0 mph record a little over a month ago, Koenigsegg has apparently set its sights on taking down another record currently being held by Bugatti.

A Koenigsegg Agera RS driven by Koenigsegg factory driver, Niklas Lilja, has completed high speed. The average speed achieved, measuring runs in both directions, was 277.9 mph (444.6 km/h). This is a new world record for a production vehicle. Early word was that the Agera reach top speed of 291 mph in the first run, which was astoundingly fast. Racelogic was in charge of recording the data and verifying the all-important numbers.
This record is almost 10 mph more than the previous record of 268 mph held by the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport, set in 2010.
