The most important truth of our lives is to be who you want to be and not feel ashamed about it. With that in mind, I can’t help but bow down before the mad hands and genius of Lazareth.

Frenchman Ludovic Lazareth and his studio are no strangers to creating insane-looking vehicles. Whenever we see a Lazareth motorcycle, we’re always blown away.

What you’re looking at is a 1999 Yamaha YZF-R1 with a storied past. This custom 1999 Yamaha YZF-R1 was completed ten years ago for the Vin Diesel sci-fi film Babylon A.D. So, what’s been done? The revised chassis is worth mentioning, as well as the fresh new front end with a swing-arm setup. The custom shocks courtesy of TFX Suspension, floating linkage system and 17” Triumph Daytona 955 rear wheels – yes, plural – add to the macho vibe of this bike.

The frame’s extensive modifications, LEDs embedded in the end cap, not to mention the carbon fiber tail hump, belly pan, and various other body panels make for a futuristic motorcycle. Performance-oriented upgrades include Brembo brakes and various high-quality Rizoma parts – the Acewell digital speedo will get the rider in the proper mood.

Surely you will agree this unique project is a head-turner, and Diesel is one lucky bastard – that was painfully obvious before.

Nonetheless, $53,000 will allow you to rest this beast on your driveway and make everyone else jealous.

Pricey? If you’re desperate for a Lazareth of your own – perhaps you should pass on this offer, and save your pennies for the Lazareth’s Maserati powered machine instead?
