For starters, buying new and original muscle car tires from the 60s is very difficult and hard to find. And even if you do find them, they can run you an astronomical amount of money. Keep in mind that the 60s decade created tires for 14 or 15 inch tires. Do not buy 17 or 18 inch tires without making proper adjustments to the car! 2. Coker Whitewall Radial P225/75R15
This more vintage looking Coker tire is an ideal replacement for 60s muscle cars that want to keep the classic look. It is newly made but has the classic look that people seek today. The price is not too high and they are great wheels for 15 inch rims. My friend has put these on his 1968 Dodge Charger R/T and was pleased with their look and performance. Get them while they are still available!
3. Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T Radial Tire P255/60/R15
Known for their high performance tires, Mickey Thompson made these for older muscle car owners that seek not just quality but also aesthetic appeal. These are very nice looking tires, and they are a great fit for many 60s muscle cars. The price is great as well, as they will last for a long while. These 27 pound tires have great reviews and owners of them are more than satisfied with them. If you don’t want to pay for the Coker’s, these are definitely second in line for a cheaper price.
4. BF Goodrich T/A E High Performance Tire 225/70R14 98S
For number 4 we go back to the BF Goodrich for a reason; they know how to make tires, especially for older cars. These are slightly different than the Radials, and are smaller for those that have 14 inch rims. They are cheap and efficient and probably the best choice for muscle car owners who like to be active.
5. COOPER COBRA G/T 4PLY RW – P225/70R14 98T
Last on our list of the best new tires for 1960′s muscle cars goes to the none else but the Cooper Cobra G/T. This tire is popular for older muscle car owners because it retains that vintage look, which is what Cooper was going for when making this tire. The specifications are the standard 225/70/R14 and the tire has durable white-lettering for those that seek it. This is one of the best muscle car tires, especially for the price(106$), so if you don’t like the other four, this one is too cheap and too good to pass up.
