Hennessey Can Boost Your Dodge Challenger Demon up to 1,500 HP

- in Cars

As if the Demon weren’t already extreme enough, the Texas-based tuner is working on an upgrade package that will increase the Demon’s output to 1,500 horsepower when the upgrade goes on sale early this year.

In the meantime they test the damn machine in all the usual ways.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon won’t be renewed for the 2019 model year, making its limited 3,300 examples all the more desirable. Thanks to its 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine delivering 840 horsepower, the Demon can accelerate to 60 mph in an astonishing 2.3 seconds and set a 9.65-second quarter-mile time when running on racing fuel. Still, Hennessey Performance thinks it can take the Demon to another level.

Hennessey’s no stranger to extracting four-digit horsepower figures from American engines. The tuning shop offers 1,000-horsepower packages for Camaro ZL1 named EXORCIST, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, the triple-charged Challenger SRT Hellcat and 1,200 hp from the Ford’s Shelby GT350.

If an additional 660 horsepower isn’t enough, Hennessey says it will also be offering numerous other upgrades for the Dodge Demon, including an NHRA-certified roll cage and a drag chute. Because the only thing more badass than a 1,500 horsepower Texas-tuned muscle car is a 1,500 horsepower Texas-tuned muscle car with a parachute.
