Car builder Keith Northrup out of Kirkland WA decided to build a truck that not only looks great, but also looks like an awful lot of fun to drive.
He has done an outstanding job creating the first performance based desert truck underneath a 1937 International shell with a rat rod stance.
You are looking at a 100% custom build by Northrup Fabrications to serve as a fun truck, a shop truck, and a calling card. As we said, the body is a 1937 International, the engine is an LS6, the rest is straight out of of the mind of Ken Northrup.
Between the front wheels sits a 5.7L GM LS6 aluminum-block V-8 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Behind the engine sits a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission connected to a Yukon Grizzly locker with 4.56 gears inside a Spidertrax Offroad 9″ rear.
To ensure the Rat had plenty of grip on-road and off, it was fit with 35×12.50R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers.
